EYFS and KS1 Federation Day Africa
Acorns and Owlets travelled to Kenya.
With the help of a wonderful visitor to the school, Anna Mudeka, the children learnt how to bang the drum 7 times to welcome visitors, and then 5 times to say Good-bye. They had the opportunity to learn and perform an African dance to the theme from the Lion King. Anna explained that at Christmas the children would receive new shoes for school or a shirt/dress for Church. And toys were made by the children themselves from twigs and anything they could find. Very different from the children of Ten Mile Bank and Hilgay. The children also made beautiful colourful necklaces.
