We follow the Sounds Write Phonics programme in school from reception through to year 6. In reception this week they learned the “v” sound which tickled our tongues. Year 2’s at Hilgay learned the “air” sound and Year 2's at Ten Mile learned about the differences with 'gh' 'g' 'gu' and 'gg' sounds. Year 1 did some phonics colouring mosaics where they had to read the word and colour in according to the code. Hilgay's Year 5 & 6 used their phonics learning in their reading! Oak class have been doing a sound search to identify alternative spellings for the 'u' sound.
